Old School Farm is a Nashville-based care farm and pottery studio fostering
supportive employment opportunities for our mission farmers while providing our community with locally grown food.
WHAT WE DO
-
Farm
Old School Farm (OSF) is a nonprofit organization that uses therapeutic farming practices for the benefit of vulnerable populations. We currently employ five adults with developmental disabilities, known as “mission farmers,” who grow, harvest & deliver produce to food insecure communities in Nashville through partnerships with local food programs.
-

Clay
In addition to the farm, we operate a pottery studio in downtown Nashville that employs one director and two mission potters. The studio hosts classes and sells handmade products from local vendors as well as products processed and packaged by mission farmers at OSF as a social enterprise to support the farm.
-

Education
OSF is committed to empowering our community by sharing our knowledge of sustainable, regenerative farming practices. We also host classes on preservation methods to help others learn techniques to preserve their summer bounty and explore natural crafting options. Additionally, we partner with local schools to host educational opportunities for students.

Giving Tuesday
This Giving Tuesday, your gift will help sustain two programs at the heart of Old School Farm's mission:
The Mission Farmer Program, which provides meaningful employment and community for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The Produce Share Program, which donates organically grown produce to local food pantries serving food-insecure Nashville families.
This year, these efforts matter more than ever. With food costs continuing to rise, a lapse in funding for supplemental SNAP benefits for many families during the month of November, and the loss of federal LFPA funding earlier this year, access to healthy food and opportunities to provide meaningful work for our mission farmers has become even more fragile.
Your support bridges that gap. Every dollar you give helps our mission farmers earn a fair wage so they can grow nourishing food to share with neighbors who need it most. Together, we can keep our fields and community thriving.
