About OSF’s CSA

Your participation in our CSA provides jobs for our mission farmers and helps us to continue to grow produce for food insecure communities in Middle Tennessee. For the last few years, we have donated all of our food to local food pantries. We are grateful for a close relationship with The Store in Nashville-a dedicated community of support working to combat food insecurity in Middle Tennessee with empathy, dignity, and respect. This year, in an effort to raise money to keep funding our mission, we are offering a small 25-person CSA.

Beginning in May and running through September, we will offer 20 weeks worth of beautiful, responsibly grown produce! This means food grown close to home without the use of chemicals and with appreciation and reverence for this land and what it provides. By participating in our CSA, you will be directly supporting the mission here at Old School Farm; to work with special needs adults to grow food to supply to local food assistance programs.

As a CSA member, you can expect 20 weeks of nutrient-dense vegetables, fruits, flowers and herbs grown free of chemicals.
Each week's offerings will value around $30, including 6-8 items.

Strawberries, Garlic Scapes, Green Onions, Radishes, Kale, Lettuce & Microgreens

an example of what a week in the Summer could look like:
Tomatoes, Basil, Cucumber, Summer Squash, Okra, Garlic & Peppers

Participation in our CSA will cost $600. Each week, our pickup will be held on Wednesdays at Old School Farm from 4-6pm.
If you are interested in joining but cannot accommodate a Wednesday pickup, please email jmiller@oldschoolfarm.org to see if there is a time we can provide another option.

If you are out of town and miss your scheduled pickup, fear not! Your food will be included with our weekly donation to The Store where we will continue to send all additional produce we grow during the season.

Old School Farm is unique from other small farms in the area for a variety of reasons. We are a "Care Farm," which means we use therapeutic farming practices for the benefit of vulnerable populations. This unique approach to growing food allows us the flexibility and freedom to try new things and grow unique crops. Our CSA will include and celebrate this! You can look forward to some of our handcrafted tea blends, seasoning salts, perennial medicinal herbs & fresh cut flowers as features in our CSA.

We will offer a market style pickup, allowing you to select your choices. Please bring a bag, box or vessel of some kind to collect your bounty! Our first pickup will happen on a Wednesday in May. We will email the official start date to participants as it nears. Due to the nature of weather and farming, it is hard to pinpoint an exact date that the garden will be ready for harvest.
